Light Requirements
Full sun to partial shade: Thujas thrive best with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Full sun promotes dense, lush foliage growth.
Soil Conditions
Well-draining and fertile: They prefer moist, nutrient-rich loamy or sandy soils with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0 to 7.5).
Avoid waterlogging: They dislike soggy or severely compacted soil, which can easily cause root rot.
Watering Needs
First year: Water newly planted thujas deeply every week or two to establish a strong root system.
Mature plants: Once established, they are moderately drought-tolerant, but they perform best when watered during prolonged dry spells.
