Sunlight
Requirement: Full, direct sunlight is critical.
Duration: The plant needs at least 6 hours of direct sun daily, though 8+ hours is ideal.
Shade Tolerance: Avoid placing it in the shade; insufficient light causes leggy, weak growth and poor leaf production.
Soil
Type: Requires loose, well-draining soil. Sandy loam or standard garden soil mixed with sand is perfect.
Drainage: This is the most crucial factor. Moringa roots are highly susceptible to root rot; never use heavy clay soil that retains water.
Watering
Frequency: Water deeply but infrequently. Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry out completely before watering again.
Established Plants: Highly drought-resistant. Once the tree is mature, it rarely needs watering unless experiencing prolonged dry spells.
Young Plants: Keep the soil slightly moist (but never soggy) for the first few months until the root system establishes.
