Sunlight

Indoor Placement: Place near a bright, east- or south-facing window with filtered or partial sun exposure.
Soil
Acidic pH: Requires a strongly acidic soil with an ideal pH between 4.5 and 5.8.
Mix Composition: Use a porous, moisture-retentive blend, such as an equal 50/50 mix of peat moss and perlite, or a mix incorporating pine bark fines to naturally lower the pH.
Drainage: Must be loose and free-draining to prevent root rot. Avoid heavy native soils or alkaline amendments like lime.
Watering
Consistent Moisture: Keep the soil evenly and consistently moist, but never soggy or waterlogged.
Water Quality: Use rainwater, distilled water, or non-chlorinated water, as tap water with high alkalinity or chlorine can raise soil pH and harm the plant.
Check Before Watering: Touch the top soil layer; if it is still wet, wait to water, but never let the root system dry out completely.
