Light Requirements
Outdoors: Plant in full sun to partial shade (at least 6 hours of direct sun daily) to maintain its vibrant yellow-green color.
Indoors: Place in a bright spot receiving 5 to 8 hours of direct or bright indirect light. Turn the pot regularly so all sides get light.
Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy.
Do not let the root ball dry out completely, as dry soil causes rapid, irreversible browning and crisping of the needles.
Use a porous, well-draining potting mix blended with perlite or sand.
Choose containers with large drainage holes; terracotta pots work well to aerate roots.
Avoid rich, highly fertile soils, which cause weak, rapid growth.
