Light: Place your bonsai right in front of a bright window (south, east, or west-facing) to give it a few hours of direct sunlight daily.
Outdoors: You can move the tree outside during the summer or warmer months if temperatures stay above 60°F (15°C). Transition it gradually to prevent sunburn.
Drainage: Ensure excess water drains completely. Never let the pot sit in standing water, as this causes root rot.
Fertilizer: Feed every two weeks during the active spring and summer growing seasons using a balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce or stop feeding during the winter dormancy period.
Soil: Plant in a fast-draining bonsai or houseplant soil mix combined with perlite, pumice, or sand to prevent compaction and root suffocation.
