Light
Bright, indirect light: Place your plant near an east- or north-facing window.
Avoid direct sun: Harsh direct sunlight scorches and burns the glossy green leaves and fades the colorful spathes (flowers).
Low light: Too little light slows growth and stops the plant from flowering.
Watering
Top-inch rule: Water thoroughly only when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch.
Prevent root rot: Never let the plant sit in standing water or soggy soil, which suffocates the roots.
Seasonal adjustment: Reduce watering during cooler winter months or heavy monsoon periods when the air is already damp
Soil & Potting
Airy mix: Use a fast-draining, chunky potting mix.
Ideal blend: Combine standard potting soil with equal parts perlite and orchid bark to ensure proper airflow around the roots.
Container: Choose a pot with active drainage holes that is only slightly larger than the root ball.
